Beyond the GHG footprint calculation,  PACT helps you develop an abatement strategy

You can’t manage what you can’t measure:

develop a carbon footprint assessment

It all starts  with  the  analysis of your current carbon footprint. Pact will help you calculate but also understand your current carbon footprint. In full compliance with internationally-recognized methodologies like the Greenhouse Gas Protocol (GHG Protocol),  we will assess the so-called  Scope 1, 2 and 3 carbon  emissions across your activity.

Scope

Scope 2 covers indirect emissions you produce (e.g., electricity and gas usage for building heating).

Scope 3 covers many indirect emissions alongside your entire value chain. This will include all the emissions from raw materials purchases, upstream and downstream logistics and transportation emissions, or also business travel and commute travel by your employees for instance.

Scope 1 covers direct emissions you produce as a business (e.g., emissions by company vehicles).

Pact can also help you identify and implement the most cost-effective abatement solutions not only for the so-called Scope 1 and 2,  focusing on on-site energy production and energy purchase, but also for scope 3 activities, with a review of your options for the entire upstream and downstream value chain.

With regards to Scope 1 and 2 emissions, the abatement strategy can be directly addressed by companies as they are directly responsible for these emissions. Pact can assess the challenges associated with the energy efficiency of your internal processes for instance  to limit unnecessary emissions. Pact can also support you source attractive long-term Power Purchase Agreement (PPA) in order to decarbonize your power consumption by switching to renewable energy solutions.

By addressing abatement related to Scope 3, companies and institutions have the opportunity to address what represents in general the largest chunk of their emissions by far. After an analysis of the breakdown of your emissions associated with your entire value chain, Pact can help you setup alternative cost effective low-carbon solutions for the most emissive products and services of your value chain.

Pact will adapt to your scope requirements

Starting with Scope 1-2 and  potentially enlarging our support to a more holistIc approach that includes Scope 3, we will adapt to the exact scope that you decide to setup for your project. From adjustments to transformative projects, we can help you in the assessment and implementation phase, in order for you to limit your GHG emissions and your exposure to future new norms and regulations with regards to GHG emissions.

Abatement

Companies and institutions must prepare to mitigate their exposure to climate-related risks and at the same time, they must reduce or eliminate sources of GHG emissions at the heart of their activities and along their entire value chain. Pact supports companies analyze their current carbon exposure and develop their carbon abatement strategies.
